XR Training System for Lower Saxony Police

Deployment in fifth German state further cements HOLOGATE as a trusted partner for immersive training solutions.

The Lower Saxony Police are upgrading their operational training with immersive virtual reality technology and have selected HOLOGATE to supply the solution. HOLOGATE will deliver its mobile HGXR XR platform, designed to provide scenario-based, realistic and data-driven training experiences.

With the upcoming deployment in Lower Saxony, HOLOGATE’s XR solutions are now in use in five German federal states, as well as by the Swiss police and the German Armed Forces. This marks a significant vote of confidence from leading public safety authorities in immersive training technologies. The modular HGXR platform enhances tactical operational training and mission readiness and can be flexibly configured for a wide variety of situations, training objectives and pre-deployment measures.

“We’re proud to have been awarded the tender, supporting the police in Lower Saxony in enhancing their training capabilities. It demonstrates that our technology is being deployed where it is needed,” said Leif Petersen, CEO and Founder of HOLOGATE. “Our systems are trusted by police forces in five German federal states, by the Swiss Police and the German Armed Forces, a strong endorsement of the operational value our technology provides. We’re excited to build on this momentum and continue expanding our partnerships throughout Germany and beyond.”

Immersive Training for Modern Policing

The HGXR platform is powered by HOLOFORCE Blue, a software environment purpose-built for law enforcement training. It features an extensive library of operationally relevant scenarios and virtual environments, designed to reflect real-world policing challenges.

With the integrated scenario editor, trainers can customize key elements such as objects, vehicles, and weather conditions, while managing dynamic incident progression in real time.

The AI-driven XR architecture supports the adaptation of virtual characters and live role-players, enabling the training of critical skills such as communication, leadership and escalation dynamics under the most realistic and high-pressure conditions possible. In addition, command and operational equipment (FEM) can be seamlessly integrated into the virtual training.

The result is an immersive, tactically relevant training environment that can be adapted to different training objectives in just a few steps. Location-flexible, resource-efficient and fully customizable.

Mobile, Scalable, and Easy to Use

HGXR is designed for mobile use and can be set up within minutes. The training area can be adapted to different spatial conditions as required — from small training rooms to large halls.

Its user-friendly interface allows trainers to familiarise themselves quickly with the system and offers intutitive control. Users can make real-time adjustments to scenarios, participant configurations, and training flow without technical barriers.

This means that virtual training can be integrated efficiently and seamlessly into existing training structures without the need for complex infrastructure.

Structured Evaluation with After Action Review

The system includes a built-in After Action Review (AAR) feature, enabling trainers to evaluate exercises in detail. Sessions can be replayed from multiple perspectives to assess factors such as line of fire and timing.

The result is clear, data-driven feedback that supports performance assessment and strengthens learning outcomes in a targeted manner.

A Reliable Partner for Modern Police Training

As an established provider of immersive XR training solutions, HOLOGATE has been working for years with public safety authorities in Germany and Switzerland. With the contract award from Lower Saxony, HOLOGATE further strengthens its position as a reliable technology partner. Authorities benefit from not only advanced technology but also comprehensive assistance from an experienced partner accompanying the entire project — from initial consultation and system rollout to instructor training, maintenance, and continuous support.

Further development ensures long-term operational readiness and creates trust in training that grows with evolving needs.
