Driving Innovation at Munich Security Breakfast

The Munich Security Breakfast highlighted the urgency of innovation in military and security policy

Amid a week of key discussions and events surrounding the Munich Security Conference—one of the world’s leading forums on international security—HOLOGATE had the privilege of participating in the Munich Security Breakfast. This prominent side event, focused on exploring solutions aimed at building a more resilient Europe, emphasized the urgent need for technological innovation such as extended reality and AI to address evolving security challenges.

With over 400 attendees, the Munich Security Breakfast brought together a diverse group of military leaders, investors, startups, and corporate leaders—all focused on shaping the future of defense. HOLOGATE was proud to join the ranks of other industry leaders, such as Quantum Systems and ARX Robotics, in demonstrating the latest advancements in military technology.

Enhancing Military Readiness

Traditional training methods are struggling to keep pace with rapidly evolving threats. Technological advancements are reshaping the security landscape with extended reality and AI proving to be essential tools.

At the event, HOLOGATE presented its HGXR M system, an immersive, scalable, and cost-effective AI-powered XR training solution. A key moment was the presentation to Ingo Gerhartz, Lieutenant General Chief of Staff of the German Air Force (Inspekteur der Luftwaffe), where we showcased our XR training system, including the Aircraft Marshalling module, now fully integrated into our HGXR HOLOFORCE software. This module enhances training by ensuring clearity of information and delivering highly realistic scenarios while paving the way for a broad range of future applications.

This significant milestone was the result of the innovation workshop held last year in collaboration with Capgemini, Thales and founders@unibw.

The module is a prime example of how adopting XR for military training is opening new doors to more effective, cost-efficient, and safer training solutions. From aircraft marshalling to tactical drills – our XR platform can transform any space up to 1000 sqm into a fully interactive, multi-user training environment and digitize virtually any training scenario, unlocking unlimited potential for enhancing readiness, flexibility, and efficiency.

A Call for Rapid Investment in Defense Technology

Leif Petersen, CEO of HOLOGATE, emphasized the critical need for rapid innovation in light of growing geopolitical challenges. “At HOLOGATE HGXR, we are committed to driving innovation in defense & security sector with our XR solutions. The Munich Security Breakfast served as a powerful reminder of the urgent need for accelerated investment in defense technology. The future of defense will be defined by the investments we make in cutting-edge technologies today,” he said.

HOLOGATE would like to extend its gratitude to the organizers of the Munich Security Breakfast, Matthias Hoffmann, Lippold von Oldershausen, and the team, for making this vital event possible.
